DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, April 18 at 4:30pm MST. \nYeah\, yeah\, we’ve heard it before.  You can’t run a house on just solar power.  As my aunt always said\, “Poop on their heads!”  (We aren’t going to do that.)  But here at Geos\, we have tons of houses running on solar power and ground source heating. \nYou can tour one\, even see the solar panels\, without ever leaving your home or office.  We’ll have a virtual tour inside and out of the house\, including information on how the house conserves energy\, produces energy\, and provides a beautiful and healthy home.  Afterwards\, join us for the virtual community meal. The tour begins at 1:00 PM\, then join the members of Ralston Creek Cohousing on “The Beach” for refreshments to discuss the advantages of living in cohousing.   Cohousing members will bring the food\, you bring your enthusiasm and appetite.  After refreshments you are welcome to join the members of the Geos community to move the goats that graze the areas of the development that haven’t been built yet. SUMMARY:Fun Moving the Goats
DESCRIPTION:Geos doesn’t mow the weeds in the areas where the houses haven’t been built yet.  We have goats to keep them under control.  They move with their fencing around the property\, munching on the grass and fascinating the neighborhood children (and their parents). \nA group of dedicated Geos and Ralston Creek Cohouser goat keepers get together to move their fences to a new “pasture” every few weeks.  In July\, they’re sharing the fun\, with a “Move the Goats” afternoon\, followed by snacks for all.  Anyone who wants to help with the goats is welcome\, and the rest of us can cheer them on! \nWe’ll meet at Tori’s Townhouse and then go get the goats!

DESCRIPTION:Members of Ralston Creek Cohousing are holding an open house and site tour. View an existing town home in the Geos Neighborhood across the street from the future site of “The Gatehouse”\, a 3 story condominium building\, and learn about the net zero energy technology that will also be implemented in the cohousing building. Net zero construction utilizes solar and geothermal energy to heat\, cool and power the Geos homes. The future site of “The Gatehouse” is located next to the Ralston Creek Trail in Arvada\, just west of the intersection of 69th and Indiana. Guides will be available to answer questions about cohousing and to show you the features of net zero construction. As a member of Ralston Creek Cohousing you will have your own complete unit including kitchen\, bathrooms\, bedrooms\, dining and living room\, while sharing space in the common house such as kitchen and dining areas for community meals\, spaces for hobbies\, relaxing\, and even guest rooms. You will have the convenience of one floor living as there will be an elevator as well as stairs. Cohousing combines private and shared space to create an intentional community that encourages interaction\, caring\, and sharing.
